Literacy Events

The Valley View Middle School PTSA supports several events which encourage reading at VVM including an author visit for grade 6 students, the Scholastic Book Fair which provides books for the media center and the New Book Release Party.

AVID School Dance

The AVID School Dance takes place in February and is a fundraiser for VVM's AVID program (Advancement Via Individual Determination). Valley View Middle School PTSA provides funding and volunteers for the dance.

Student Recognition

The Valley View Middle School PTSA supports programs that recognizing students who exhibit good behavior and the Valley View Virtues (Values, Integrity, Respect, Understanding and Excellence). These include a bi-annual breakfast for students and families, weekly drawings and Falcon Fests.

School Volunteers

The Valley View Middle School PTSA provides volunteers to work at various events during the year including BTS night, book fairs, picture days and school dances. We also arrange dinners for staff during school conferences.

Scholarship Donations

The Valley View Middle School PTSA supports the Education Foundation of Bloomington's scholarship program for high school seniors with an annual $200 donation. For more information about the mission of this organization visit them at

Other Classroom Funding

The Valley View Middle School PTSA receives requests from teachers and other to provide funding for items that are not included in the regular school budget such as food, extra supplies, prizes, etc.
